The Rade is matriarchal. The mother holds the key role in the family; manages all activities in family. The mother is like a deity, who the Rade people respect and love. For thousands of years, the Rade people have always valued the spirit and the strength of the community. They adhere to the custom laws which are strict but benevolent. They educate the younger generations to have high moral values and good characters. The Rade believe“all things are spiritual, ”meaning all creations of Heaven and Earth have souls. Thus, they respect Giang (God), and they respect all beings in all the realms. The Rade have always know that God is everywhere. Therefore, we must keep our speech properly, and we must live correctly.
