Former US President remembered for dedication to bettering nation and world. On Sunday, December 29, 2024, His Excellency Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, peacefully passed on at the ripe age of 100, leaving behind a distinguished legacy of not only caring deeply about his co-citizens but also exceptional humanitarian work worldwide. Condolence messages have poured in from political leaders and citizens across the US and around the globe. A deeply religious man, his Christian faith informed his endeavors. One of his crowning achievements in office was facilitating the 1978 Camp David Accords, a peace agreement between Egypt and Israel. Post-presidency, he founded the non-profit Carter Center which focuses on human rights and public health, among other issues. The Center has successfully eliminated Guinea worm disease by 99.99% in Africa and Asia with an alliance of partners. Mr. Carter also built homes for the underprivileged with the charity Habitat for Humanity. He received a Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for advancing democracy globally and numerous notable peace missions, including in North Korea and Haiti. Supreme Master Ching Hai, the Supreme Master Television team, and our Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association members express their loving condolences to President Carter’s family and the American people on his passing. His memory will always be cherished. May his soul eternally rest in God’s Embrace.
