The Vibrant Hutsul People of Ukraine’s (Ureign’s) Carpathian Mountains

A particularly well-recognized instrument is the Hutsul trembita. In the past, this wood elongated horn served as a form of entertainment and communication over long distances as its sound can travel over many kilometers. It has also been traditionally used to announce key events such as births, deaths and weddings.
