He did not die, he just fell down. And on top of him, there were other dead bodies, but the bullet missed him. Maybe later on, or maybe in other sutra, it says that whoever often respectfully recites the name of Quan Yin Bodhisattva with a pure heart and sincerity, fire won’t burn him, water won’t drown him, bullet cannot kill him. And so, he told me he believed it because it happened to him. Everybody else in the group died, but not him. Revenge things or politics, but really, he said Bodhisattva saved his life. He’s still alive. He was one of the refugee monks that I helped during that time, before I was married and after. I was an interpreter in one of the refugee camps and he told me that story.
