When doing woodwork and applying wood veneer, achieving clean and precise joints on sharp 90-degree corners can be tricky, since veneer often cracks or buckles at sharp angles. This easy and effective technique might help: place a small piece of tape or a Post-it note right at the corner edge, with the sticky side facing outward, toward where the veneer will lay. Lay the veneer sheet over the Post-it, allowing it to stick slightly. Carefully remove the veneer; the Post-it will come off with it, creating a clear outline of where the veneer meets the corner. Trim the veneer along the Post-it’s edge with a sharp blade or scissors. Once trimmed, the veneer will fit perfectly on the corner. This approach helps ensure accurate cuts, reduces gaps, and results in smooth, professional-looking corners without damaging the material.
