If you’ve been in the kitchen whipping up vegan wonders lately, then I have a useful tip for you. You can sanitize many kitchen utensils using boiling water; however, you need to be careful with wooden spoons since it can cause them to warp or degrade. Treat your wooden spoons approximately once a month to help remove the grease and food particles that have been absorbed into the porous wood over time. Once you have finished with boiling them, just quickly wash and rinse using a mild dish soap. You can also consider using a conditioning oil to seal wooden utensils and cutting boards to keep them in good condition for years to come.
