Climate change has been a topic of scientific research and public debate continuously since our first “Earth Day.” Over three decades, our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) has been advocating tirelessly that “the food we eat has a direct impact to our planet.” The Plant Based Treaty initiative, a grassroots campaign, was finally brought up at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in 2021.

The world’s first Vegan Earth Day March was initiated and organized by the courageous Sarina Farb (vegan), then joined by Chelsea V Davis (vegan), with the mission “To create a societal vegan paradigm shift that normalizes non-violence, sustainability, and collective liberation for all earthlings through the immediate development and transition to a plant-based veganic food system.” “We’re calling with the Vegan Earth Day March, which is the manifestation of this environmental march that centers animal agriculture. “

With a collaboration of like-minded vegan activists such as: Shining World Award for Earth Protection recipient Dr. Sailesh Rao, Shining World Compassion Award recipient Dr. Anita Krajnc, Shining World Vegan Journalist Award recipient Jane Velez-Mitchell, producer and co-host of “Plant Based in the Burbz”, Paige Parsons Roache, and founder and executive director of the nonprofit Rowdy Girl Sanctuary Renee King-Sonnen, Sarina and Chelsea managed to put together a grassroots movement that spanned over several countries and cites garnering much-needed attention to this urgent cause.
