Growing up as a child in the 1980’s and 90’s under very hostile conditions, Evan understands very well the emotional after-affects such conditions have, especially on children. He also realized the psychological and emotional healing music and drumming brings. According to respected vegan doctor, Christiane Northrup, "drumming in a group releases negative feelings, creates a sense of connectedness and boosts your immune system!” Therefore, Evan’s program provides students, both refugee and non-refugee, with a number of mental, physical and emotional benefits.
