We all know sunshine is important for making vitamin D, but most people don’t get enough, especially shift workers like me. A recent study suggests for the general population, taking 2000 IU of vitamin D daily will improve overall health. Vitamin D is vital for strong bones, teeth, muscles, and your immune system. While mushrooms and some vegan supplements provide vitamin D2 – which is labelled as ergocalciferol, vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) usually comes from animal sources, like lanolin from sheep-peoples’ wool. Even though D3 can be manufactured from vegan sources, many vitamin D fortified foods may not use the vegan-friendly version, including fortified cereals, breads, plant-based milks, and bottled juices. These foods will generally just list “vitamin D” without specifying the source, so we cannot be sure. To avoid animal-folk derived D3, choose products containing vitamin D that are specifically labeled with a vegan certification or contact the brand for clarification.

Master, who is Love itself! I’m writing this with thanks for Your protection and Blessings. I first saw a pig-people slaughterhouse when I was 12. I still can’t forget the shock of witnessing the rotten blood, stench, and howling of pig-people from there. After that day, I couldn’t erase the thought of eating a corpse every time I ate animal-people meat. When I was in high school, I had a dream one day that Master dressed in white and explained Her journey of enlightenment on a Korean morning broadcast. The dream was so vivid that I believed Master actually appeared on the show until initiation. When I was a college student, I read “The Key of Immediate Enlightenment” and decided to get initiation. I avoided mealtime with my family and couldn’t say I was a vegan at home for a while, so I ate poorly, with rice and gochujang. However, I felt light and happy because I was able to get out of the guilt of eating dead bodies.

One day, I was on the subway and it smelled very bad and rotten. The smell was so strong that I felt nauseous and had to get off the subway right away. It smelled like the same odor I had around slaughterhouses as a child, and it was a mixture of animal carcasses from people’s bodies. Humans are addicted to the taste of blood and have a paralyzed sense of smell, so they cannot sense the smell of rotting animal-people carcasses coming from meat. However, if they could smell that disgusting smell even for a second, I think many people would immediately stop eating animal-people meat.

After applying for initiation, one day in my dream, You appeared to me wearing a gold Aulacese (Vietnamese) traditional costume and smiling so big that it filled the sky. One morning while I was waiting for the initiation ceremony, I was meditating, and I saw a group of ghosts who looked like my distant relatives. One of them, a woman ghost with long hair hanging down, got so angry that she punched me under the solar plexus, saying, “You haven’t even settled all your debts yet.” I woke up, curled up in so much pain. After that, all the ghosts disappeared. When I became initiated, the angry ghost expressed its anger because it could no longer torment me due to Master’s protective Power. With Master’s protection and Blessings, I was able to escape the suffering of my myriad of lives’ bad karma. I’m so grateful for Your sublime sacrifice and dedication. May all sentient beings become vegan and quickly escape from this system that kills and causes pain to each other and enjoy Your Love and Blessings. Pu Reum from Korea
