In today’s news, Rwanda receives pandemic assistance from European Union, Russia supports school nutrition project in Tajikistan, researchers find some corals have genes to adapt to climate change, Singapore takes steps to boost plastic recycling, Hungarian bus driver rescues elderly woman, vegan cheese demand to soar globally, and Scotland takes measures to protect seals.

European Union provides grant to assist Rwanda.

The European Union, a Shining World Leadership Award for Peace recipient and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring laureate, has provided a grant of nearly €53 million to support Rwanda during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds are part of a €460 million package that was signed in 2014, and will be used to enhance social protection and support the food crop supply chains as part of the government’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Plan. At least 630,000 vulnerable Rwandan households will receive cash transfers and food assistance. Heaven’s blessings, European Union, for your solidarity with nations in need. We pray that the loving Rwandan people live safe and secure lives, in God’s grace.

Russia supports Tajikistan’s school feeding program.

The government of Russia, a Shining World Generosity Leadership Award and Shining World Leadership Award for Wildlife-Protection laureate, has contributed US$11.2 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to develop the third phase of a sustainable school feeding initiative in Tajikistan. The fund will be used to modernize canteens, train school staff, and encourage healthy diets. In partnership with the Tajik government, a Shining World Leadership Award for Good Governance laureate, the school feeding program was successfully implemented in almost 60 schools during the first two phases over the past seven years. Russia has also granted an extra US$10 million to purchase food for schoolchildren in Tajikistan during 2020-2021. Our warm appreciation, Russia and World Food Programme, for your caring efforts. May the young generations of Tajikistan be blessed with robust health in body, mind and spirit, in Allah’s immense love.

Up next, researchers find some corals have genes to adapt to climate change. We pause to appreciate the detailed medical coders, who analyze doctors’ notes about each patient and translate them into standardized records. Please stay for more beneficial news on Supreme Master Television.

Hooray, treasured friends, it’s me, Bobby the vegan Blue Anole. Because I am vegan, I protect many, many beings. Come join me on this very worthwhile mission! I have an animal care tip for you today. In hot weather, you can wet the feet of your loved one such as with a cool moist towel. That’s because dogs, cats, birds and ferrets lower their body temperature through their feet. Gently misting their face with a water spray bottle can also help them feel better. Thank you for watching and love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now, the weather around the globe.

Corals found to have genes that allow them to adapt to climate change.

A new study from scientists at Columbia University in the United States found that genomic sequencing can help find out which corals have the ability to withstand higher temperatures associated with global warming. Researchers from the Australian Institute of Marine Science collected and analyzed 237 coral samples from the country’s Great Barrier Reef, to detect genetic variations with tolerance to bleachings. Scientists were able to identify specific genes and interactions between genes, as well as other factors that assisted corals’ ability to withstand heat. Resilient corals could then be selectively raised and implanted into endangered areas. Our appreciation, Columbia University and Australian Institute of Marine Science researchers, for striving to protect our precious coral reefs. In Divine peace, may the magical marine world be returned to its pristine state as we enter a vegan era of responsibility to all life.

Singapore takes steps to encourage plastic recycling.

Singapore has added 34 reverse vending machines to the 16 already in service at malls and complexes across the country. These stations accept plastic and aluminum drink containers, and then dispense discount vouchers for rewards, such as free rides with a bike-sharing firm, shopping credits, and tokens for attractions on a local island resort. There is also the option not to receive any awards. According to Singapore’s National Environment Agency, since the introduction of the reverse vending machines in October 2019, over 2.4 million aluminium cans and plastic bottles have been collected. Bravo, Singapore, on your neat recycling efforts. May your fine nation stay clean and prosperous, in Heaven’s care.

Brave Hungarian bus driver saves woman.

Károly Zsolt Kis in the town of Miskolc in Hungary recently saved an elderly woman who was being robbed. Mr. Kis, who was on his bus route, noticed the situation and immediately stopped the vehicle, got out and rescued the woman by chasing the man away. The entire incident was recorded by the bus’s onboard camera, and the police were able to apprehend the suspect shortly after. Thankfully, the woman was unharmed physically and took refuge on board the bus. Our grateful praises, Károly Zsolt Kis, for your quick and brave actions to aid the gentle Hungarian lady. We pray that all people will follow your noble example and protect one another, in God’s light.

Up next on Noteworthy News, vegan cheese demand to soar globally. We send our gratitude to all the people who diligently wear face masks to protect themselves and others during the pandemic, as the health officials have emphasized. We’ll return with more brightening news on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Happy News for a Joyful World.

Vegan cheese set for almost 300% increase by 2030.

A report by United States-headquartered Transparency Market Research has predicted that the global vegan cheese market will be worth approximately US$7 billion by 2030, compared to an expected value of around US$2.5 billion by the end of 2020. The report foresaw a yearly compounded growth rate of approximately 10% for plant-based cheese sales, noting that this increase is due to people becoming more aware of animal welfare, health and climate change. Notably, Europe is predicted to lead the market with 40% of global sales. Amazing news! Thank you, Transparency Market Research, for highlighting the ever-growing popularity of vegan cheese. May all people soon sample its goodness as they make the wise switch for the animals, themselves and the planet, in Celestial magnanimity.

Scotland takes measures to protect seals.

In a bid to safeguard the grey seals and harbour seals, the Scottish Parliament has passed the Animals and Wildlife (Penalties, Protections and Powers) Bill, which amends the 2010 Marine Scotland Act in order to stop the shooting of seals by those in the fishing and fish farm industries. Using sound-based deterrent devices to scare off such marine mammals is also now prohibited. Under the updated law, the penalty for the illegal shooting of seals is imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to approximately US$50,000, or both. If prosecuted, the punishment is an unlimited fine and/or up to five years in prison. This major victory for seals was welcomed by Humane Society International, a Shining World Compassion Award recipient and a Shining World Protection Award laureate, that has worked for many years to end the cruel practices. Our highest salute, Scotland. Many thanks, Humane Society International. May God shield all sentient co-tenants of Earth and help humans become evermore benevolent.

Here is a joke to massage your mind today, entitled “Not the Score.”

Ethan was a huge basketball fan. But he had to go to work during an important game on TV, so he asked his wife to tape it for him. After he left the office, Ethan flew through their front door, bursting with anticipation, and shouted: “Don’t tell me the score!”

Then his wife assured him: “I don’t know the score. All I know is that your team lost.”
