The Poetic Conical Hat, Part 1 of 2

According to legend, the origin of the conical hat started long ago in Au Lac (Vietnam). There appeared a Goddess who always wore a hat made of four round shaped leaves. Anywhere She went, the weather was fine and calm. After teaching the people to grow rice and other food plants, the Goddess disappeared. To commemorate the Goddess’ kindness, the people tried to make a hat modelled after Hers by stitching together some dried leaves. They used it to shelter themselves from the rain and sun.
