I have a gardening tip for you. If you like fresh fruit like I do, then today’s tip on planting a plum tree may interest you. Plum trees should be planted in a warm, sheltered area like against a wall. The fruit typically ripens well when there is heat and protection of a wall. Steer clear of placing plum trees in regions that are susceptible to strong winds and heavy frosts since this can damage the blossom and decrease fruiting. The most ideal time to move or plant plum trees is in the early spring prior to their active growth period. If you notice your tree is starting to show signs of stress, its roots are popping up from the base of the pot, and there’s stagnant growth, it’s time to repot. It is recommended you change pots every two to three years and this should be done in early spring so you can incorporate a good amount of organic matter in the larger pot.
