Here’s a tip on how to safely and effectively consume lemon water. Lemon water has many health benefits—it provides vitamin C, antioxidants, increased hydration, and can potentially support digestion and control your appetite. It is recommended you drink warm, diluted lemon water in the morning since it can stimulate bowel movement and help you stay hydrated throughout the day. Simply dilute 15-30 milliliters (1–2 tablespoons) of lemon juice in 250–300 ml water. Please note, lemon water contains high acidity levels that can irritate sensitive stomachs, cause heartburn or tooth enamel erosion. Therefore, you should use a straw to protect your teeth and avoid consuming it on an empty stomach. Those with gastric reflux and ulcers, or certain conditions should be cautious.
